The streets of Vila Real became victorious for Lynk & Co Cyan Racing in 2025 as Yann Ehrlacher and Thed Björk made a clean sweep with pole and two victories.
Lynk & Co 03 TCR driver Yann Ehrlacher claimed his first pole of 2025 in qualifying ahead of team-mate Santiago Urrutia.
“This is the kind of track you need to start at the front,” said Yann Ehrlacher.
“We knew it was going to be a struggle here with the weight, but to set the pole with 30kg makes me super-happy.”
The Frenchman then made the most of his pole, heading a lights-to-flag victory ahead of team-mate Santiago Urrutia further extend his points lead.
“Being on the podium here is always a good thing, and this is the first time I’ve won this race so I’m very happy," said Yann Ehrlacher.
The second race saw Thed Björk dominating the race together with team-mate Ma Qing Hua.
Ma Qing Hua led the race initially but let Thed Björk past for the two to control the race from then on.
“It was absolutely fantastic. I’m so happy to be sitting here and I only do it because of Ma, and my team. Ma had fantastic pace, but now I owe him one victory, and he knows that. I know that he will claim it back," said Thed Björk.
“It was a great weekend for Lynk & Co Cyan Racing, we have scored a lot of good points and I’m very happy to be one of them this weekend. In Race 2 I did a really good start and managed the pace very well in leading the field. Then I have to finish in this position, so now I guess I’m waiting for Thed to pay me back for it. Thanks to the team, they did a great job!” said Ma Qing Hua.
Yann Ehrlacher heads the standings on 250 points, 27 points more than Honda rival Esteban Guerrieri.
The next FIA TCR World Tour race takes place on the other side of the world at The Bend in Australia on September 11-13.
