Volvo S60 Polestar Concept

The Volvo S60 Polestar Concept Prototype was introduced in 2012, marking the second ever road car built by Cyan Racing. The Cyan Racing engineers created the concept car utilising the technical study made on the S60 model for racing.

The main focus when developing the car was to combine a comfortable genuine Volvo driving experience with a high level of power and handling. The Volvo T6 engine was developed to deliver a considerable increase in power and torque, with substantial modifications being made, although with a majority of existing Volvo parts.

This, in combination with a lowered, widened and reinforced chassis together with a developed Haldex all-wheel drive system and Öhlins suspension makes the car suitable for both high performance driving and long distance traveling.

Robert Dahlgren, former Cyan Racing development driver, commented the driving experience: “For me the Volvo S60 is a very well sorted car from start. In our concept car we have developed chassis, engine and transmission just like we want it, and the result is a huge leap forward in terms of handling and performance. It is, by far, the most impressive street Volvo I’ve ever driven. But the genuine Volvo feeling is still there.“

The car broke the lap record for four-door cars around legendary American track Laguna Seca in a test by Motor Trend, read more here or click the video below.
