Lynk & Co Cyan Racing secured three FIA TCR World Tour podium finishes at the legendary Monza circuit in Italy courtesy Thed Björk and Yann Ehrlacher.
The first race saw several drivers suffering tyre issues, but not Yann Ehrlacher who made his way up from fourth on the grid to finish in second place.
Thed Björk was also on the move throughout the first race, climbing from seventh on the grid to an impressive third place.
“Congratulations to Norbi and Thed, especially to Thed, as we worked as a team. We worked in safe mode to make sure we secured points for Cyan Racing," said Yann Ehrlacher.
"He had good pace in qualifying and the race, so he deserved as much as me the opportunity to score points. I’m also happy to see Norbi back to where he belongs. We came here with 40kg of ballast and not expecting much, so to imagine we could be P2 would have been unrealistic. Right now, it’s cool to be P1 in the championship, but it’s a long season, we’ve only done seven races out of 20.”
Thed Björk was right in the thick of the action in the second race, battling Hyundai rival Néstor Girolami for second place, having to settle for third.
“I was going forward all the time, fighting, fighting, but then Norbi arrived at the end, and I also had to look in the mirror. Fighting with two cars is not so easy. At T1 at the start, we came down three-wide into the corner and we didn’t look at the braking point, we just looked at each other. I’ve never braked that late ever. It was a nice race, I’m very happy to be third again, it was not easy," said Thed Björk.
Yann Ehrlacher secured ninth in the second reversed-grid race to further extend his championship lead which is now up to 16 points over Esteban Guerrieri.
The next race of the 2025 season takes place on the streets of Vila Real in Portugal in two weeks' time.
