Lynk & Co Cyan Racing heads to Italy for start of hectic TCR World Tour double header

2023-06-08

Lynk & Co Cyan Racing heads to Autodromo Vallelunga in Italy this weekend for the start of a hectic TCR World Tour double header, with Hungaroring following just a week later.

The team heads to Italy in the lead of the teams’ standings following a strong weekend at Spa-Francorchamps where Yann Ehrlacher claimed his first victory of 2023, moving the Frenchman up into second place in the drivers’ standings.

“We made vital progress ahead of the previous race at Spa and it felt great to step on top of the podium, this is a feeling that I carry with me for Italy. I will carry a lot of weight at Vallelunga, so it will be challenging races for sure. But I am still confident that we can get a good weekend and keep pushing forward,” said Yann Ehrlacher.

Team-mate Santiago Urrutia is third overall, just 18 points from the lead, after two solid first race weekends of the 2023 season.

“I’m really excited to head to Italy and fight for the top positions, that’s the goal for sure and I think the conditions are there for it. The championship is very close and one of the main objective is to keep the team championship lead,” said Santiago Urrutia.

Lynk & Co 03 TCR drivers Thed Björk and Ma Qing Hua had a mixed weekend in Belgium two weeks ago and the duo is keen to make up ground from tenth and eleventh position overall respectively.

“I wasn’t happy at all with my results at Spa and I’m very much ready to fight back. I like Vallelunga and my eyes are firmly set on clawing back points, fighting for the podium positions,” said Thed Björk.

“Vallelunga should suit our car, but I will also carry a lot of weight after our strong qualifying results at Spa. This will obviously affect tyre degradation and overall performance. We will for sure fight hard and try to score as many points as possible anyhow and I’m looking forward to the weekend,” said Ma Qing Hua.

The TCR World Tour weekend at Autodromo Vallelunga starts on Friday with practice, followed by qualifying on Saturday and two races on Sunday.

All races will be broadcast LIVE via the TCR TV streaming platform.
