Yann Ehrlacher wins again to claim WTCR Esports points lead

Yann Ehrlacher claimed his second Pre-season Esports WTCR Championship victory to move into the points lead following the two races at the virtual version of Ningbo, the home circuit of Lynk & Co Cyan Racing.

"It was a good race and I am really happy to claim the championship lead. My goal is firmly set on keeping this ahead of the final two race weekends," said Ehrlacher.

The Frenchman, who turned 24 just two days ago, started from pole position and won the first race in style, close to three seconds ahead of Honda title rival Néstor Girolami.

The second race saw Ehrlacher fighting his way up to sixth position, pulling a strong move on title rival Esteban Guerrieri on the very last lap.

Ehrlacher heads the points table with 129 points, six more than Hyundai driver Norbert Michelisz and eight more than Guerrieri.

The next round of the Pre-season Esports WTCR Championship takes place at the fearsome Macau street circuit on July 12th.
