Flash report: A fighting start to the Nürburgring weekend
The first two free practice sessions of the FIA World Touring Car Cup weekend at the fearsome Nürburgring Nordschleife saw Thed Björk finishing eighth, with the mechanics of the Lynk & Co Cyan Racing team fighting hard.
Both Yvan Muller and Andy Priaulx suffered technical issues in the first session, meaning a lot of valuable time lost. Muller had a gearbox issue while Priaulx had a fuel pressure issue.
A strong effort by the mechanics saw both drivers completing the second session without any issues.
Yvan Muller was 15th fastest in the second session, Yann Ehrlacher 19th and Andy Priaulx 24th.
Next up for the drivers are the two qualifying sessions, starting at 15:30 and 19:30 CEST respectively.
