Flash report: Yvan Muller climbs nine places in second Slovakiaring race

2019-05-12

Lynk & Co Cyan Racing driver Yvan Muller was once again on a charge in the second FIA World Touring Car Cup race at Slovakiaring, climbing nine positions to finish eleventh from 20th position on the grid.

Rain hit the track about an hour before the start and the race was declared wet. But the rain ceased in time for the first lap and all cars were on dry tyres on a mostly dry circuit.

Thed Björk started from eleventh position on the grid but was involved in an incident on the first lap that forced him to pit with a front-left puncture. The Swede resumed the race to finish 22nd.

Team-mates Yann Ehrlacher and Andy Priaulx crossed the finishing line in positions 17 and 18, climbing eight and five positions respectively in the nine-lap race.

The third and final race of the WTCR weekend in Slovakia starts at 16:45 CEST with Thed Björk starting eleventh, Yvan Muller 20th, Andy Priaulx 23rd and Yann Ehrlacher 25th.
