Flash report: Yvan Muller charges into the top ten

2019-05-12

Yvan Muller made a strong first FIA World Touring Car Cup race in slippery conditions at the Slovakiaring to finish in the top ten from 17th position on the grid.

The Lynk & Co Cyan Racing crossed the line in eleventh position but was classified tenth as he had the non-scoring wild card driver Luca Engstler ahead of him in tenth position.

A light rainfall hit the circuit just as the race started, meaning difficult conditions for the drivers once again.

Team-mates Andy Priaulx, Yann Ehrlacher and Thed Björk fought hard from their grid positions as the rear of the field to finish 21st, 22nd and 23rd respectively.

The second race of three today starts at 15:15 CEST where Thed Björk will start eleventh, Yvan Muller 20th, Andy Priaulx 23rd and Yann Ehrlacher 25th.
