​The 2019 WTCR calendar has been revealed

The calendar for the 2019 FIA World Touring Car Cup has been revealed with ten race weekends in nine countries and three continents.

New to the calendar is Sepang in Malaysia that will host the season finale on a date that will be announced shortly.

The season starts on April 7th on the challenging street circuit in Marrakech, Morrocco.

Following Marrakech is the European season with rounds two to six, spanning from Hungaroring in Hungary, Slovakiaring in Slovakia, Zandvoort in the Netherlands, the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife in Germany and the spectacular street race in Vila Real, Portugal.

The Asian part of the season features the final four races, starting with Ningbo in China on September 15th, followed by Suzuka in Japan, Macau and finally a night race at Sepang, Malaysia.

Other changes ahead of the 2019 season include that the top 15 drivers will score points in each race compared to last year's top 10. The qualifying points has also been expanded from the top three in 2018 to the top five in 2019.

The grid limit has been increased from 26 cars in 2018 to 32 cars for 2019.
