The reigning World Champion of touring car racing, Thed Björk, is going to join Prince Carl Philip at Lotus Cyan Racing for this weekend's Swedish GT round at the former F1 circuit Anderstorp in Sweden.
The race takes place exactly 40 years since the last Formula 1 race was held at Anderstorp with Swedish racing legend Ronnie Peterson clinching a podium finish for the official Lotus F1 team.
"I am delighted to be back racing in Sweden this year and to continue helping Prince Carl Philip with his strong progress in the Swedish GT. The Lotus Evora GT4 is a new experience for me, I have tested it and my impressions were positive. The car is well-balanced and inspiring to drive," said Thed Björk.
Prince Carl Philip started the season strongly with a victory in the first race at Knutstorp in May and is keen to improve further at Anderstorp.
"We had an encouraging start to the new season and Lotus programme that I look forward to continue building on this weekend. Anderstorp is a classic Swedish racing circuit with a lot of history and it is one of my favourites," said Prince Carl Philip.
The duo will face a boosted field at Anderstorp with additional entries. Prince Carl Philip is currently placed fifth in the championship, a mere eleven points from the championship lead.
The Swedish GT weekend at Anderstorp starts on Saturday with practice and qualifying, followed by two races on Sunday.
