Lotus Cyan Racing claims pole position for Swedish GT season opener

2018-05-04

Lotus Cyan Racing drivers Richard Göransson and Prince Carl Philip secured two front row grid positions for the Swedish GT season opener at Knutstorp tomorrow with Göransson claiming the GTB class pole position for the first race.

”We had a great first qualifying session for our debut with the Lotus Cyan Racing programme. Things worked according to plan and it was rewarding that the times were so close with our competitors, I had to fight hard to claim pole. I feel confident for the races tomorrow,” said Göransson.

Team-mate Bernadotte was second fastest in the GTB class in the second qualifying session, a mere 0.291 seconds from pole position.

”I am quite happy with the result but I would of course like to have claimed pole. We are none the less in a good position for both races and we made strong progress with the car throughout the day,” said Bernadotte.

Göransson will start the first race from pole position, then handing over to Bernadotte during the mandatory pit stop while Bernadotte will start the second race from second position and then hand it over to Göransson.

The first race of the 2018 Swedish GT season starts tomorrow May 5th at 11:30 CET, more information at: https://www.geelygroupmotorsport.com/series/swedish-gt
