Polestar Cyan Racing is heading for Swedish GT at Karlskoga this weekend with driver duo Prince Carl Philip and Thed Björk focussed on reclaiming the championship lead.
The duo had a competitive, but tough, weekend in the previous race at Falkenberg, dropping them to fourth and seventh of the championship.
”Falkenberg did not turn out the way we hoped. The important thing was that we were competitive and we bring that speed with us to Karlskoga, a circuit where I have scored strong results over the years. Our goal is to be back in the Championship lead after the weekend,” said Prince Carl Philip.
Björk returns as co-driver with Prince Carl Philip for the final time this season, and comes strengthened from the World Touring Car Championship races in Argentina where he climbed to second place in the championship.
”It feels awesome to be back on my home track, Karlskoga, following a good summer break after my podium finish in Argentina. We’re heading to Karlskoga to fight for the championship lead – we have what it takes to win,” said Thed Björk.
Three race weekends are left of the 2017 Swedish GT season with Prince Carl Philip just nine points adrift from the championship lead.
”We are very much looking forward to this classic Swedish race weekend at Karlskoga. Given that we scored less points than we had potential for during the previous race weekend, the whole team is keen to reclaim the lost ground. We can expect a flat-out performance from everyone in the team,” said Alexander Murdzevski Schedvin, Head of Motorsport at Polestar.
