Engine change for Thed Björk

2016-04-22

Polestar Cyan Racing will change engine in the race car of Thed Björk ahead of tomorrow’s Free Practice 1 session following issues during the test of today at Hungaroring.

The issue originate from the previous race in Slovakiaring where Björk’s car ran extremely hot in the final laps of the second race due to grass and debris being gathered in the air intake following intense on-track action.

"With Slovakia and Hungary coming back-to-back over two weekends, there is obviously very limited time which makes it impossible for us to find this issue until we hit the track in testing. The team is currently changing engine and this is all part of the game this early into our programme, it is very much a learning year for us,” said Alexander Murdzevski Schedvin, Head of Motorsport at Polestar.

The engine change means that Björk will start from the back of the grid in the first race at Hungaroring, while he will start according to his qualifying result in the second race.
