Update on qualifying exclusion for Thed Björk

2016-04-02

The FIA World Touring Car Championship stewards found that Thed Björk’s race car did ”not comply with ground clearance” in the post-qualifying checks.

Because of this, Björk will be forced to start from the rear of the grid in both of the races from the original positions of fifth for race one and sixth for race two.

The decision also means that Ekblom’s grid position is changed from second to third for the first race and from ninth to eighth position in the second race, as Björk has been moved to the back of the grid.

”We checked the ride height in the Q1 session and it was ok, something must have happened in Q2 that we do not know about with the car. But this is racing sometimes and I will try to give a good show tomorrow trying to climb up through the field!” said Björk.
