Polestar Cyan Racing has completed a successful shakedown of the two brand new Volvo S60 Polestar TC1 race cars at Knutstorp in Sweden. The session was held in preparation for the first official FIA World Touring Car Championship test in Italy next week.

”It is an amazing feeling to drive the first metres of an all-new car. There is so much time and energy behind the completion of these cars and the commitment from the team is contagious. This is the actual start of our multi-year project with one clear goal, to win the world championship,” said Thed Björk.

Both drivers, Thed Björk and Fredrik Ekblom, drove their cars during the shakedown and reported no problems.

”This is by far the best roll out I have ever driven in my career. The car worked great and I am very happy that we have been able to run this faultlessly, enabling us to focus on proper test work next week,” said Ekblom.

The team is currently heading to the Vallelunga circuit in Italy where the WTCC teams of 2016 will meet for the first time on track with a two-day test on March 2-3rd.

The first WTCC race of 2016 will be held at Paul Ricard in France on April 2-3rd.
