The most successful STCC driver ever, Richard Göransson, has signed to drive a third Volvo S60 for Cyan Racing in the 2016 Scandinavian Touring Car Championship.
”I am very proud and excited to drive for Cyan Racing. I am here to win and I know that the team only exists to win, so I could not be at a better place,” said Göransson.
The 37-year-old has the most number of race victories of all, 39, and is equal with fellow Cyan Racing driver Thed Björk on four STCC titles.
”Richard has been one of our fiercest rivals for many years and we are delighted to have him on board with us. I have no doubt that he is going to challenge for the absolute top positions this year,” said Christian Dahl, CEO of Cyan Racing.
Göransson is going to drive alongside already confirmed drivers Robert Dahlgren and Prince Carl Philip at Cyan Racing.
”I have the best possible conditions and it is up to me prove that I can win. I am more than ready for the season to start and there are no doubts on my goal, to become the first driver ever to take five STCC titles,” said Göransson.
The 2016 STCC season starts on May 1st at the airport circuit in Skövde, Sweden.
