Polestar Cyan Racing starts WTCC testing abroad

2015-11-30

Polestar Cyan Racing has started a test programme abroad in preparation for the 2016 FIA World Touring Car Championship.

”We have taken steps forward with the car from our initial tests. This is of course very early days yet, but what I have experienced so far is really promising,” said Thed Björk, reigning triple STCC champion.

A series of tests have been completed where development drivers Thed Björk, Robert Dahlgren and Fredrik Ekblom drove the newly constructed Volvo S60 Polestar TC1 race car.

”We have been able to complete our test schedule according to plan and without any major problems so far, providing us with a lot of answers to the questions we have. The development phase is still in the early stages where we are currently creating a foundation for our WTCC assault. We have the majority of development work still ahead of us, but it is of course rewarding to start our test programme in a positive manner,” said Fredrik Wahlén, Team Manager, Polestar Cyan Racing.

Polestar Cyan Racing will enter the 2016 FIA World Touring Car Championship season with two cars as start of a multi-year programme. The identities of drivers will be revealed before the end of 2015.
