Mechanical Chassis Design Engineer

Cyan Racing AB is a motorsport and automotive performance organisation where we develop cars from clean sheet design to manufacturing and build.

We are recruiting for a world-class Mechanical Chassis Design Engineer to join our engineering team in Molndal, Gothenburg, Sweden. Our Design Engineers contribute to complex and a wide variety of automotive and motorsport engineering projects, working as a Tier 1 supplier to automotive OEM’s and in an environment where you are encouraged to take ownership & responsibility and develop creative solutions to engineering problems. Candidates should be self-starters who bring a positive attitude, integrity, and enthusiasm to our team.

Reports to: Engineering manager

Key responsibilities:

  • To design fit for purpose parts and assemblies in line with Cyan project objectives.
  • The design process includes concept, scheming, creation, sign off and release of technical drawings for components and assemblies as well as BOM creation and component validation.
  • To manage working time to ensure that solutions are delivered by the agreed deadline.
  • To produce supporting documentation, follow part manufacture and first fitment to make sure parts and assemblies are fitted to the design intent.
  • To record and document calculations, design reference data and correspondence to ensure that the design process can be reviewed at a later stage.
  • To promote effective communication within the team and between departments.
  • To minimise engineering and manufacturing cost by promoting cost effective design and all other elements of cost control, whilst maximising performance.

Person Specification
The successful Mechanical Chassis Design Engineer will be degree qualified in a mechanical engineering subject preferably related to automotive, motorsport or aerospace engineering.
You will have 3-5 years’ experience of 3D design preferably using CATIA software, ideally designing components and systems used in the automotive / chassis, motorsport or similar industry.

Workshop supervisor

Cyan Racing AB is a motorsport and automotive performance organisation where we develop cars from clean sheet design to manufacturing and build. 

We are recruiting for a world-class workshop supervisor to join our Race & Build team in Molndal, Gothenburg, Sweden. Our workshop supervisor is a new position and will contribute to a wide variety of automotive and motorsport engineering projects. It requires the individual to manage the day to day operations of our technicians in the Race & Build workshop and possible at some events, ensuring projects are delivered to Cyan’s high quality standard, on budget and time. Candidates should be hands-on self-starters who bring a positive attitude, integrity, and enthusiasm to our team.

Reports to: Race and Build Manager

Key responsibilities

  • To plan and coordinate the Delivery Technicians in coordination and with the agreement of the Race & Build Manager
  • To plan and co-ordinate all Race & build workshop activities to align with and contribute to Cyan’s overall business and project objectives under the leadership of the Race & Build manager.
  • To implement the Race & Build processes, standards, frameworks and its interaction with the process outside of the workshop. Secure adherence and correct level of knowledge for all needed employees throughout Race and Build workshop.
  • To deliver Technician services that reflect Cyan’s professional and expert capabilities and character.
  • To empower team members to further themselves.

Person Specification

  • The successful Race and Build supervisor will have 3-5 years’ experience as a supervisor and a background as technician preferably related to low volume automotive or motorsport.
