Polestar Cyan Racing drivers Prince Carl Philip and Thed Björk are heading to the Swedish GT round at Falkenberg, the fastest track in Sweden, as championship leaders this weekend.
The duo won the opening round of the championship at Knutstorp in May, with Prince Carl Philip heading the standings on 43 points ahead of the Ferrari duo of Fredrik Larsson and Ingvar Mattsson.
“The start of the season was great and I am very happy to head to Falkenberg, one of my favourite circuits, where I claimed my first STCC victory. Our goal for the weekend is very clear – to maintain the championship lead,” said Prince Carl Philip.
Team-mate Björk is fresh back in Sweden from the FIA World Touring Car Championship round in Portugal where he climbed to second place in the championship.
“I am bringing the positivity from the WTCC where we are in a very strong position. My mission for Falkenberg is to get Prince Carl Philip into the best possible situation to fight for the victory and stay on top of the championship. I think we have everything we need to do just that. But with that said, the competition in the championship is strong and we need to be on our toes,” said Thed Björk.
Prince Carl Philip and Björk will face tough competition from Ferrari, Porsche and McLaren teams in the two races with mandatory pit stops and driver changes at Falkenberg this weekend.
